BCS products came to America in the early 1970’s at a time when Americans were re-discovering the joys of vegetable gardening and pursuing self-sufficiency. The walk-behind tractor with tiller attachment was an instant success due to its superiority to the rear-tine tillers produced by US manufacturers of homeowner-quality lawn and garden equipment.
In addition to gardening, rural property owners soon found that the front-mount cutter bar attachment was ideal for mowing pond banks, under fences, around semi-dwarf fruit trees, etc. Commercial farmers, nurseries, public and private institutions then began using BCS tractors and attachments for all those applications for which four-wheel tractors are poorly suited – mowing steep roadside banks, sweeping snow from pedestrian walkways, intensive cultivation and so on.
Fifty years later, there are now many tens of thousands of BCS owners in the US and Canada. Supporting them are 700+ servicing dealers, two regional distributors, and a national headquarters (in Oregon City, Oregon).
Like BCS in Italy, the mission of BCS America is to increase your productivity and reduce the physical effort required to accomplish your outdoor tasks and projects. We are committed to providing our customers with the world's best walk-behind agricultural equipment and we proudly offer the widest selection of implements for BCS Two-Wheel Tractors of any distributor worldwide.

OVERVIEW
The BCS model 620 differs from the majority of the BCS tractor fleet because it's designed for front-mount attachments only. This means the handlebars don't rotate 180º and it will not operate rear-mount attachments like the Tiller or Rotary Plow.
Model 620 is for applications where only front-mount attachments are desired, and it offers versatility with the ability to attach various mowers, snow implements, and blades. With three working speeds and one transport speed, the 620 offers an appropriate speed for every application. The only limitations are that the straight axle design limits its maneuverability and the 8hp engine limits the size of the mowers and snow throwers that can be accommodated.
Overview
The 710 is lightweight, compact in size, and loaded with BCS quality. Designed for decades of dependable service, its all-gear driven transmission, automotive-style clutch, and powerful Kohler CH270 Command Pro engine make this a great investment for those interested in a basic range of attachments. Because the engine’s power is not lost due to the inefficiency of belts, the tractor comfortably handles an 18” or 20” Rear-Tine Tiller, Hiller/Furrower, 30” or 40” Sickle Bar Mower, 24” Snow Thrower, Water Transfer Pump, and more.
In the family garden, the 710 with tiller is a superior, do-everything tool – bust sod, prepare seedbeds, power compost cover crops, create planting furrows, hill potatoes, and cultivate between rows to eliminate weeds!
For the commercial market garden, the 710 is great for cultivating – no untilled strip in the center of the row and a maximum working speed of 1.4 miles per hour.
OVERVIEW
Like the 710, Model 718 is lightweight, compact in size, and loaded with BCS quality. It features the same all-gear driven transmission and automotive clutch. And the 718 powers the same basic set of attachments.
Of course, there are differences between the two models; one of which is the engine. The 718 is powered by Honda’s commercial GX200 engine.
The second difference is the handlebar system. From the base of the steering column to the operator controls, the handlebar system screams user-friendliness and versatility.
The last two features are particularly helpful when sickle bar mowing steep slopes, under semi-dwarf fruit trees, and under fencing. When climbing a slope, the handles need to be lowered; when descending, they need to be raised, and when mowing across the slope, they need to be offset so the operator can comfortably walk alongside on the downhill side of the mower and maintain a vertical posture.
OVERVIEW
In addition to all-gear drive and the advanced handlebar system like that of the 718, the model 722 is the most popular of the Straight Axle tractors and features:
OVERVIEW
BCS model 732 is the most economical tractor offered with Differential Drive, with more features, more horsepower, and more versatility than Straight Axle models.
By enabling each wheel to turn independently of the other, differential drive eliminates the effort required to turn straight axle tractors. With “turn-on-a-dime” maneuverability, the 732 is a logical choice when mowing with attachments such as the 26” Brush Mower* and 24” Flail Mower*. For gardening in the tight circumstances of hoop houses and fences, the ability to easily pivot is a virtual must-have.
If and when positive traction to both wheels is needed to mow across a steep slope or blow snow on a slippery surface, the differential can be “locked” into posi-drive with a simple backward pull of a lever. Flip the lever forward when not needed, and the tractor returns to differential drive.
The 732 is powered by Kohler’s Command Pro CH395 engine and can accommodate a broad range of attachments, including the 26” Tiller, Rotary Plow*, and 53” Sickle Bar Mower.
Like the 722, the 732 features two working speeds in each direction, and a transport/road speed in rear-mount (tiller) mode. And for those who would like the convenience of key start as well as that of differential drive, an electric start version is available.
*5x10 Wheel upgrade required.
OVERVIEW
PowerSafe Model 739 is the entry model to BCS tractors that feature the PowerSafe clutch and includes a third working speed. At 2.7 mph, third gear provides both a comfortable walking speed when transporting the machine and a functional speed when mowing with the rotary Brush Mower, Flail Mower, Lawn Mower, and Dual Action Sickle Bar.
Another important asset when mowing - differential drive and “turn-on-a-dime” maneuverability. The ease of turning makes the job more enjoyable for all applications. The BCS differential drive includes an on-demand lock, so posi-traction is available for circumstances such as mowing across steep slopes and clearing snow on slippery surfaces.
Powered by Honda’s GX340 (11HP) engine, the range of compatible attachments for model 739 expands to include virtually all BCS attachments. It is available in recoil or electric start.
While the designation “PowerSafe” refers to its compliance with the safety standards currently required by the European Union, the key feature difference from our standard models is its wet, hydro-mechanical clutch. The benefits of this clutch are many:
Given the long-term investment made by our customers, in combination with the unpredictability of their long-term needs, it is understandable that the model 739 is one of BCS’s most popular models.
OVERVIEW
PowerSafe Model 749 is a larger, more fully-featured version of the 739. Designed to better accommodate larger, heavier attachments, such as the 32” Brush Mower and 35” Flail Mower, the 749 includes an individual brake for each wheel, making it easier to turn and maneuver. It's Honda GX390 engine provides the power necessary to operate the full lineup of BCS attachments. Better maneuverability and balance with larger implements comes from the 749's longer transmission and standard 22” tires — a huge advantage when navigating uneven terrain and straddling raised beds.
Like the 739, Model 749 features the patented "PowerSafe" hydro-mechanical clutch which is particularly well-suited for long hours of use with high torque implements like the Flail Mower and Chipper/Shredder. The durability of the PowerSafe clutch is also reflected in its 5-year warranty (for both commercial and non-commercial use) and ability to withstand the frequent abuse by multiple operators. Finally, the hydraulic clutch is more user-friendly. Since the clutch lever is operating a hydraulic valve rather than compressing a spring, shifting gears with the hydraulic clutch requires less hand pressure to depress the lever.
Like the 739 and all Professional Series models, the 749 features the ease and convenience of differential drive. When traction to the wheels is needed, a flip of the lever locks out the differential feature and provides positive pulling/pushing power to both wheels.
Add to these features — three working speeds in both directions, a shuttle-style forward/reverse, BCS’s advanced handlebar system with instant access to seven vertical and three horizontal positions, and optional electric start – and it’s easy to see why the Model 749 is so popular among institutional users, professional market farmers, and rural property owners.
OVERVIEW
Model 779 is the first BCS two-wheel tractor model featuring the hydro-mechanical clutch, reversible handlebars for both front- and rear-mount attachments, AND hydrostatic wheel drive.
Note: Previously released as Model 770, the 779 features longer handlebars designed for the North American market.
Other features of the 779 include Differential Drive and on-demand differential lock for posi-traction. Maneuverability is further enhanced by individual wheel brakes which are particularly useful when operating heavier attachments like the 35" Flail Mower.
The 779 is powered by the dependable Honda GX390 engine, available in recoil or electric start. And that power is transferred to the transmission via the PowerSafe clutch. This patented, hydro-mechanical clutch is a super-durable multi-plate clutch, cooled by circulating oil, and designed to withstand the rigors of operating high torque implements, such as the Flail Mower and Chipper/Shredder, during long hours of operation.
Note: Due to the clearance that the cooling radiator for the Hydrostatic drive requires, Model 779 comes standard with a required set of wheel extensions installed making the overall track width 27". For this reason, we do not recommend the 26" Tiller with this tractor as the tires would be wider than the tiller box.

OVERVIEW
Like its sister 853 model, the 852 is a larger, more fully-featured version of the 732. The only difference between models 852 & 853 is the direction of the transport speed.
The four-speed transmission includes three working speeds in both directions, with third gear being particularly helpful when mowing large areas. Just like the 853, the fourth gear is strictly a transport speed. Unlike the 853, model 852's transport speed is for front-mount attachments which enables the operator to ride the BCS Mowing Sulky to the job site. This feature is particularly appreciated by those who need to travel a distance before beginning the day’s mowing, such as Christmas tree growers or folks making hay.
Designed to better accommodate larger, heavier attachments, such as the 67” and 71” Dual Action Sickle Bar Mowers, the 32” Brush Mower, and 35” Flail Mower, the 852 includes an individual brake for each wheel, making it easier to turn and maneuver. To power larger attachments, the engine size is increased to Honda’s GX390 engine. And, with a longer transmission, the standard tire size for the 749 is increased to 22” in diameter; a real plus when navigating uneven terrain and straddling raised beds.
Like all Professional Series models, the 852 features the ease and convenience of Differential Drive. When traction to the wheels is needed, a flip of the lever locks out the differential feature and provides positive pulling/pushing power to both wheels.
Add to these features -- a shuttle-style forward/reverse, BCS’s advanced handlebar system with instant access to seven vertical and three horizontal positions, and optional electric start – it’s easy to see why the Model 852 is so popular with customers needing the additional benefit of a transport speed for front-mount attachments.
